boxing, baseball, and whips

BASEBALL: Well last night the Yankees were playing Tampa Bay Rays. in the 5inning the yankees catcher Russell Martin was throwned out of the game just because he had a sence of humor. Martin was crouching behind the plate with his mask on when he said he asked Schrieber,(umpaire) "Did you stretch before the game?" Schreiber walked around to the front of the plate and asked Martin what he said, and Martin said he responded, "I feel like you're kind of tight right now." The words earned Martin his fourth career ejection and first of the season. In my opinion and the studio opinion they belive that the umpire was the one that started everything. there was no reason why the umpire should eject him from the game. there is a rule for the umpires that if a player talks back to them they have the right to eject the player out of the game but Martin didnt talk back or was disrespectful to the umpire. tell me what you think?

  1. Luis,

Was this the final regular season game? Which studio does the opinion belong to? Does the network have any afiliation with either team?

Additionally, if everything you state is true (without omissions), it sounds to me as though Schrieber, the umpire, over-reacted.

Did Martin's ejection have any effect on the outcome of the game?
